Good for the price, decent performance

I was looking for some cheap GPU time to train a smaller model and Runpod popped up. I signed up and got some free credits, which was a nice start. I went with an NVIDIA RTX 4090 in a Community Cloud Pod. The pricing per hour seemed pretty competitive, especially after those initial credits. It ran my training job fine, no major issues. I probably saved a bit compared to other options I checked. Overall, it felt worth the money I spent.

Got my project done

Needed to run some Stable Diffusion stuff for a personal project, nothing too crazy. I heard about Runpod and decided to give it a shot. I just picked a serverless GPU and uploaded my script. It was pretty easy to get going. The interface wasn't confusing or anything, which was a relief. It did what it needed to do, and I wasn't left scratching my head. The charges seemed fair for the time I used it. All in all, a good experience.

Another solid experience

I've used Runpod a few times now, mainly for their NVIDIA A100s. This time I spun up a PyTorch Pod for a new project. Setup was as smooth as always, took maybe 10 minutes from logging in to having everything ready. I appreciate that consistency; it's why I keep coming back. My data transferred over network storage without a hitch too. Just reliable service, every time.

What kind of GPUs do they even have? Need something beefy for training, like an H100 or A100. Are those usually available or do you have to wait forever?

N Nathan R. 4 weeks ago
They've got H100s and A100s for sure, saw them last time I was browsing. Availability can be hit or miss for the really top-tier stuff, depends on demand. Sometimes you gotta refresh a few times.

I've snagged A100s there without too much trouble, especially if you're not picky about the exact region. H100s are a bit harder but definitely there sometimes.

hey, was thinking about trying runpod for some stable diffusion stuff. are they legit or like some fly-by-night operation? heard some horror stories about other GPU cloud places.

J Jason Martinez 1 month ago
Yeah, they're legit. Been using them for a few months for my ML projects, no issues. Way cheaper than AWS for the same kinda power.

Totally legit. Used them a bunch of times. Never had a problem with my data or anything. Plus their A100s are usually available.
